Tell Georgia to Make "Upskirting" a Crime!

A Georgia court ruled that the practice of taking a photo up someone's skirt without consent is legal. Laws against lewd behavior were written at a time before technology existed that allowed people to take and/or disseminate photos in this manner.

Because of this loophole, "Peeping Toms" can harass and humiliate women and others who choose to wear skirts in public. The next legislative session won't be held for another six months. Until then, perverts are free to take photos up people's skirts -- a practice known as "upskirting."

People should not live in fear of wearing skirts in public because of a loophole. Please sign the petition to urge Georgia legislators to create legislation to criminalize upskirting!

I am shocked that Georgia court ruled that the practice of taking a photo up someone's skirt without consent is legal. I understand that laws against lewd behavior were written at a time before technology existed that allowed people to take and/or disseminate photos in this manner. Now that this technology exists, it should be a priority to rewrite the laws to ban this type of behavior.

I respectfully urge you to create legislation to criminalize upskirting. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider this petition.
